Happy Halloween!

Work took me to Thorpe Perrow again today, and the colours just get better. I bought some furniture this morning for some upcoming outdoor shoots and got chatting to the owner of the store. I was telling her about my next project for Hope and she said something which resonated with me, she shared a love of beautiful things, and understood how a piece of wood like a photograph can tell a story. She booked me to photograph her son the last available date in November which leaves only the first week in December free to ensure delivery before Christmas. The rest of the day was taken up tying to get copyright for the songs I want to feature on my new website, no easy task. I went running twice today, I have come to like running in the mornings. Seeing the grocer set out the fruit and flowers and the queue of people in the bakery waiting on breakfast. I get to watch the world wake up, where as on a night the streets are empty, the world quieter. Also I learnt today that Pizza Express is coming to Northallerton-brilliant news.

catch up

A busy couple of days...not helped by having a car accident on Sunday, but I can't complain because I am alive. I have the joy of a courtesy car for the next couple of weeks, which is great as my first panic was not being able to make my upcoming shoots. And on a light note, my temporary number plate is my initials. I have some childrens sessions lined up over the next few weeks which I am really excited about as I have some new ideas I want to try out. I met with my web designer this afternoon and hopefully within the next 6 weeks I should have my new site. Another beautiful autumnal day, I wandered around York tonight, latte in hand planning some new projects I have in store for Hope. Sometimes I wish I wasn't always thinking so many steps ahead, other times I am grateful to be so passionate about my life. Like everyone (I hope) I do have crisis of faith, sometimes wish in those moments there was someone there to shake me, wish there was someone who believed in me more than I believe in myself. If that makes sense. True quote:-

'' Above all, be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it''

I got approached today to photograph some angels...not literally of course, but wooden sculptures. So I head to Cundall this week in search of  angels. And then I have a wedding down south so another busy week ahead-which is good as I spent copious amounts of money today in Jo Malone. I should know by now that I cannot go in to that store without purchasing more than I should. Today's trip was no exception, one of there candles (Vintage Gardenia) sits on my windowsill as I type this. And I somehow left with not only the one bottle of perfume I went in for but two bottles, because they say fragrance combining is the way forward. Um. It has been the most beautiful week weather wise, I visited Thorpe Perrow for the first time and the trees were just stunning. Even today as I walked down streets strewn with leaves the colours just make me smile. You wouldn't guess autumn was my favourite time of year.

Finally after a good 24 hours editing photographs I have put together the DVD from Laura & Ros's wedding. I had the task of choosing the perfect song to add to the slideshow and knew there was only one that was fitting. I chose 'Heavenly Day' by Patty Griffin.

Perfect perfect day.

Laura & Ros's ceremony was beautiful-it was a pleasure meeting such kind, geniune people. The ceremony itself was very moving, there wasn't a dry eye in sight...literally. When Ros addressed Laura as 'My darling' in her vows I cried. I didn't feel so bad though because even the registrar cried, and kindly handed out the tissues while Ros announced to everyone that even the photographer was in tears to which I got a round of applause. Not embarassing at all! Anyway it really was an honour to photograph this couple, it's always nice to witness a happy ending in it's truest form-the binding of two people so in love.

I hope you both continue to be as happy as you were today, and enjoy the Maldives!

London

A very busy few days spent in London. I had a wonderful time, and met a fantastic couple who I am photographing next April-there ideas matched my own and I expect we will have a lot of fun on the day and doing a 'trash the dress' shoot after the big day. There ceremony will be held at museum gardens in York which will make a great backdrop.

London as always inspires a hundred new thoughts. My favourite thing to do is to go to Borough market on South Bank, it's a food market and is an absolute feast for the senses. Hours were spent buying and eating all sorts of wonderful foods...marmalade ice cream which has to be tried...and sea salt and caramel fudge which sounds disgusting but was out of this world. The sound of people chatting, the sight of my friends laughing and the smell of mulled apple all of which equates to a perfect day. Everyone go!
