I am full of cold which hasn't stopped me racing around like a mad woman this morning getting all my jobs done so that I can spend the afternoon home fixing. It's hard not going for a run this afternoon as I run everyday at the moment and it's the time in the day which is completely my own. I am lost in the music, and it may not make much sense but it's probably when I am at my most relaxed. But of course I won't run today because I feel out of breath just walking up the stairs. It's quite nice being forced to stay home and get all my home jobs done, paper work, invoices etc. I even found some time to make some thank-you cards. Combine 'Kite' by Patty Griffin, the warmth of the fire and the high that comes from overdosing on Beechams and overall it's not a bad day.

Thank you to to the wonderful Gill family for letting yesterday's shoot happen. I had the shoot filmed for a the new website and so it wasn't your average shoot. The weather stayed fair and bright. Where we were shooting there was a sign that read 'bulls keep out'...Mum got slightly nervous at this point but thankfully no bulls were present during the shoot.
I saw my web designers on Friday and I am happy to say I was really happy with phase 1.
I had the pleasure of meeting Beth Nielson Chapman last night-lovely lady, they are never quite how you expect. Anyway, she sang songs that have come to mean so much more to me than just words and piano and it was a very moving evening. Back to the web designers today, printers, framers, maybe find time to go to the supermarket and get some food...maybe not!

I have the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous little girl again on Sunday. I can't wait. This will be the 3rd Sunday in a row I have been with this family, and I think we are keeping Betty's in business...what with all the cakes I've been buying! I have become addicted to the pink fondant fancies, try one, the sponge is like silk (if that makes sense). Anyway, lovely weekend planned, beginning with the day off on Friday-which is very needed actually. I get to spend some time with my favourite person, they have opened Hotel Du Vin in York and I am eager to check it out. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

A couple of Happy Birthdays for tomorrow...Ken & Adam x x
I found an old song today which I forgot how much I loved -Feelin' Love by Paula Cole. I've been driving most of the day with this on repeat. Try it. I spent the morning shopping in York, it was lovely despite the rain. Spent a while in Borders flicking through wedding magazines, baby couture magazine and my other favourtie for writing, the Rialto. I will be preparing orders until late tonight so will be paying for those hours spent flicking through magazines, just in case I sound like it's so cushy being a photographer. I got booked today for a wedding next August at the beautiful Ripley Castle, I am honoured as she already booked her photographer but changed her mind after I photographed her son a few weeks back. I can't wait.

This is Lauren Gill-can you believe she is only 13! Great time shooting lately, the cold hasn't stopped me!...though I am going straight out tomorrow to buy some fingerless gloves because I am now beginning to lose feeling in my fingers which is making taking photographs harder. I have had some brilliant families lately who have braved the cold and with a smile! Thank you thank you! All fine here, just trying to stay focused on orders and staying organised while getting used to my new iMac. Busy week ahead, hopefully get to see my web designers which will be exciting. Really keen to get that up and running however in no real rush as I just want it to be right. I have a few projects in motion for the new site and I am just trying to bring them together now. Celine Dion is touring-I know I shouldn't claim to like Celine Dion but I always have! You can't beat a power ballad. I haven't talked of music much on here lately, though as always I am finding new artists. I listen to music constantly especially as lately I am sitting at my computer editing. Though as I am seeing Beth Nielson Chapman next weekend I am mostly listening to her, and Patty Griffin's album still gets heard a lot too. Also when the new site is live I will have a all new blog too, which will hopefully encourage more people to drop me a comment -hopefully it will be more like a message board-though I do love recieving my e-mails..thank you, they really do make my day!

I gave myself a much needed day off work yesterday and we got out of town. We shopped, ate, walked and saw some live music and returned in the early hours of this morning-always a good sign of a good night! I feel refreshed and ready for the next 7 days of work!. I am lucky that I love what I do and everyday is different and varied but I didn't know how much I needed to relax and get some air until we were doing it. I am fortunate that I have loved ones in my life who know me better than myself sometimes and know when I need scooping up and taking away from it all-even for 24 hours! Of course I took my camera but it wasn't in my hands once...and so the camera was turned on me! I have a busy weekend ahead, photographing both days but I am really excited about that, espcecially if the weather stays as nice as it is today. I am going to see the film Into the Wild tonight and I can't wait. I have been waiting on this film ever since I read the book years ago. It is about a man who yearns for something more than the generic and so travels to Alaska in search of a nomadic lifestyle. I have had an on going fascination with Alaska even before I went there, and I am sure it is inside everyone to crave something more. Since I took the day off today's list of things to do is doubled so I should go. Enjoy the weekend.
